Travel apps that would be very difficult to sacrifice!
1. TRIPOSO (Free)
I couldn’t rave enough about this app. It has everything you would want from a travel app and throughout the years it has only improved.
With the option of a FREE download of individual countries it has a lot of reliable information from places to visit, eat, sleep and is catered for all budgets. My favorite feature of this app is the maps that navigates you around without using any data or much battery. The app has simple phrases from each country with a great breakdown of how to pronounce words. It really is incredible and I could not recommend it enough.

2. TRAILWALLET (In App Purchase)
Now this one I love so much because of my budget traveling ways. Before I would try to keep track of my expenses but it was inevitable that somewhere a long the way you lose track. But with this app, as long as you remember to add in your spending (which I now do naturally) it is virtually impossible to lose track and saves all the time spent panicking about where those all so important extra dollars have gone.
Even on trips where I’m not on such a tight budget I like to use it because it is handy to write down where you’ve been (hostel names and price) and makes it super accurate to pass on to friends.

3. SKYSCANNER (Free)
Quite an obvious one but essential nonetheless. Such a easy app to navigate and the amount of time and money I have spent booking flights through skyscanner makes me one of their number one fans. On the current trip I’m on I’ve found flights last minute that would be cheaper than a bus and saves you so much time especially if you’re on a time crunch. It’s a good app to have at the ready if ever needed.
4. HOSTELWORLD (Free)
While Triposo can recommend places to stay, hostelworld is dedicated to bookings and has countless reviews so that you can feel comfortable with where you’re picking. I don’t tend to pre book much accommodation but when I know I am going to be getting in somewhere late, then I will usually book myself in at least for the night. The app works very reliably and up until now I have never had any problems.
5. CURRENCY CONVERTER (Free)
When constantly switching between currencies it is easy to get confused every now and then, especially in countries where they like to add a whole bunch of extra zeros! With my currency converter I can instantly compare the exchange rate and it’s easy for me to see whether I’m getting a good deal or not.
So there you have it. My top 5 travel apps. My phone is full of many more features that get me by such as Google maps, online banking, uber and Airbnb - but these are all ones that you would also use back home. These are specifically important to have on the road.
