Once I allowed myself time to not be distracted by the busy life that consumed my days - I was soon to learn that traveling, talking to people about life, and helping children were my true passions. These didn't seem like ways I could make money and to be honest, it sounded a little "fluffy" to me. But they are the things that make me "tick," the things I spend time doing without getting paid. I started building my website and Instagram in March, not knowing what it would bring me - if anything. I have been overwhelmed by everyone who reaches out to me, I try to respond to ever email, direct message and comment - because I genuinely care about meeting all of you.
One of the biggest joys I have had so far was when PoorPilgrim reached out to feature me on their website. They were just starting with social media - but they had been in business for over a year and had been having wonderful success - coordinating volunteer trips, travel planning, and more! Our online conversations and emails turned into an hour and a half phone call. We realized we shared so many of the same values, outlooks, and passions. I got goosebumps when I was talking to them on the phone - because I was starting to realize there are other people out there that look at the world the way I do. Traveling & charity are two realities that changed the way PoorPilgrim saw the world and what they desire to share! To create a new way for people to travel: charitable travel.
I have now joined their team to work and collaborate along side them! I am honored to be apart of something bigger and it gives me that much more confidence to follow my dreams and passions. And like I always say - I don't know what my tomorrow looks like... But I know every day it's starting to look a lot better than before!
